Ever wished to see SongSong couple acting together after they say ‘I do’?
That might not be happening anytime soon as Song Joong Ki said he felt it would be tough to act with his future wife Song Hye Kyo on the same drama or movie.
SongSong fans might not even see the couple acting together ever! How sad is that?
“Working with Hye-Kyo for future (collaborations), that’s something I would have to give a little more thought to,” Song Joong Ki said during the press conference for his latest film “The Battleship Island.” He was talking in Korean during the press con at Marina Bay Sands.
“Because I feel that it would be challenging,” the 31-year-old actor added.
“Work is work so it may be a little tough to be on the same production,” he said.
It seems like Song Joong Ki would like to draw a clear line between his professional and private life.
“The Battleship Island” is the Korean actor’s first project since shooting to superstardom with his Korean hit drama “Descendants of the Sun,” the same drama he shot with his wife-to-be Song Hye Kyo.
Song Joong Ki plays a Korean independence movement operative in the World War II drama. This is also his first movie after five years, with his last film being “A Werewolf Boy” released in 2012.
Given his role in “The Battleship Island, Song Joong Ki joked that he now has five years in total in serving as a soldier.
“If you count the number of years I’ve served National Service in Korea, as well as playing the role of the soldier in DOTS, and now this (movie) role, I’ve been living the life of a soldier for five years now,” the actor joked.
He added that his experience in the army and his military buzz cut have made him comfortable with his latest movie role.
“The Battleship Island” also stars So Ji Sub, Hwang Jung Min, and Lee Jung Hyun. The movie broke box office records during its release in South Korea in July.
As for those hoping for another glimpse of the SongSong couple, we might just have to content ourselves with watching DOTS over and over again.
