Kim Soo Hyun denied rumors about the actor’s potential enlistment this September.
KeyEast said the actor has not been given his draft notice.
“He hasn’t received his draft notice yet. It’s not true that he’ll be enlisting in September,” the actor’s agency said on July 11.
The rumors were based on an insider’s claim that Kim Soo Hyun is rushing to finish his commitments by August.
“Kim Soo Hyun told a company that he endorses that he has to finish all schedule by August. Many advertisers are assuming that he will be enlisting soon. While he doesn’t have his summons yet, it’s expected that he will be enlisting in September. This is the trend many celebrities have taken before their enlistment,” said the insider.
However, Kim Soo Hyun himself refuted the speculations during his press conference for his latest movie “Rea.”
The details on timing for my military service are not confirmed. I don’t think I could ask for more if I could do one more drama or movie before enlisting should the timing allow for it. However, I think I’ll have to wait and see,” he said.
Kim Soo Hyun is just one of the many Korean actors who are in talks of getting enlisted this 2017. Others include Ji Chang Wook, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, 2PM’s Taecyeon, 2PM’s Jun K., G-Dragon, and more.
Since Kim Soo Hyun’s date of enlistment is not yet confirmed, this should give his fans plenty of time to enjoy his movie and to organize K-drama marathons of the TV series that he starred in, such as the hits “My Love from Another Star,” “Moon Embracing the Sun,” “The Producers,” among others.
