BTS carved a space for itself on TIME magazine’s list of ‘The 25 Most Influential People on the Internet’!
This success came after the group took home the award for Top Social Artist during the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on May 21, when BTS’ Rap Monster impressed everyone with his fluent English-speaking skills.
The magazine described the Bangtan Boys with this line: “Overtaking Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez to spend 27 consecutive weeks atop Billboards “Social 50” chart, which tracks popularity across different platforms, would be an impressive feat for any artist.”
It also gave props to how the Korean boy band was able to grow a virtual fanbase that could have challenged Beyhive, Beyonce’s group of fans. TIME noted how the groups’ fans, called BTS Army, pushed the boys’ Wings to No. 26 on the Billboard 200, the highest debut there ever was for a K-pop album.
TIME’s list also had big names such as US President Donald Trump, pop star Katy Perry, reality star Kim Kardashian, and supermodel Chrissy Teigen, among others.
Way to go boys!
