BLACKPINK is dominating YouTube as they broke record after record with their latest music video for “As If It’s Your Last.”
Their comeback proved to be more than just a success as the relatively new girl group broke YouTube records previously put in place by more established Korean bands.
BLACKPINK, formed by YG Entertainment with four girls, Jennie, Jisoo, Rose, and Lisa, debuted last year with hit songs “Whistle” and “Boombayah.” Now, they have come so far as they breached the 10 million, 20 million, 30 million, and now the 40 million views with their latest music video released on June 22.
The 20 million views of the group’s “As If It’s Your Last” MV was recorded after 47 hours, beating BTS’s “Not Today” MV record. Their 30 million views after merely 4 days and 11 hours also beat out TWICE’s “Knock Knock” record.
According to Pop Crush, BLACKPINK now holds the record for the most viewed music video in 24 hours for a K-pop group in history.
As of July 2, the “As If It’s Your Last” MV reached the 40 million mark, something that they achieved within 9 days and 15 hours, which was yet another record. According to Soompi, it beat TWICE’s “Knock Knock” record, which took 11 days and 4 hours to reach 40 million views.
Congratulations BLACKPINK for an amazing comeback!
